Sisterlocks Anniversary: Six years 8 months

Six years and eight months have gone by since my Sisterlocks establishment. With or without makeup, low maintenance hair is an awesome feeling.

My loc length is undeniable at this point.   Updo's are no problem!

The mirror was spotty, but I see a leaner, meaner me coming through.

Step one:   Blow-dry the hair straight
Step two:  Use Mizani Moisture Stretch product to double strand twist individually and/or flat twisted
Step three: Create the updo.  Long hair - bun styling; Medium length hair - try modern french roll

Sisterlocks Anniversary: 4 years 7 months Updo Featured

Somebody thought that I was wearing a hairpiece! Nope, this hair 100% natural and 100% original!  It is all my naturally grown hair.

It is my four years seven months Sisterlocks Anniversary!

Updos are quick and painless.  I bend my body down and wrap my bundle of locs with a stretchable comb headband.  I circled it around twice to achieve this bun.

I can wear the loc bun to the side or to the center.  I can wrap the stretchable comb headband around once or twice.  I received a LOT of compliments wearing my locs up.  I may get used to this!!!

This is my locs down for the month.  Please don't compare loc length.  My hair naturally shrinks.  I am really pleased with just wearing my own unique, original hair.  It has been one of the most freeing experiences ever!!!!

Updo using Vidal Sassoon Comb N Clip

 Do you love my updo?  I am loving that I am gaining some length.  Yes!

One of my newest lock styling accesories is the Vidal Sassoon Comb 'N' Clip.  I love it!  I even slept in it without any pain.  It stayed in place as well.  I actually banded my locks at the top first in a "pineapple" stack.

I then clipped the Comb N Clip in place to give the illusion that it was actually holding up long locks.

This hair accessory is lightweight, sturdy, and I purchased for about $2.00 USD at one of the Tuesday Morning Stores.  People without locks of course, will also benefit from this particular hair accessory.

Scandal's Olivia Pope: Back updo Side bob

Photo by Richard Cartwright.  ABC's Scandal television drama is scheduled to air this formal look on next Thursday.  I saw it in the sneak preview last night, and I was in awe.  This side bob is actually an updo in the back.  Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope is absolutely gorgeous in this dress with a fresh, sassy updo.
