I am loving the rhinestone roller pins anchoring Rihanna's head wrap hairstyling. Some call this hairstyle a "doobie." Others may reference this hairstyling to the Tuvinian culture who are known for hats and scarves that resemble this "head wrap" styling.
Some people felt Rihanna's hair was incomplete in the head wrap styling. While others probably see it as a new trend to follow. We will see!
Congratulations Rihanna on your most recent Icon Award for the American Music Awards 2013. Your mom's speech was heartfelt and got me a little teary eyed. Thanks for keeping it real!

Hair Tool Review: Roller pin, bobby pin, hair pin
The "super size" bobby pin next to the jumbo magnetic roller is called a "roller pin." Roller pins can be used at night to secure your wrap. They can also be used for a wet set on rollers.
Of course, bobby pins are handy to anchor hair in place securely. They come in various hair colors: black, brown, gold, silver.
Hair pins are for securing hair into a bun or french roll or a knot in which a soft shaping is needed. Notice the hair pin does not have a closure. They are mainly used for updo hairstyling.
Spin pins (not pictured) have become a topic of interest. More on those at another date . . .

3-inch Jumbo Magnetic Hair Rollers
Three-inch magnetic rollers deliver volume and body to long, straight hair. This photo of Elizabeth Hurley is from www.shampooandset.com.
This picture of the back of a roller set client is from www.shampooandset.com It gives you an ideal of roller placement and the use of a net to hold the rollers in place. Also, look closer at the anchoring of the rollers. Can you see that two roller pins are used to hold the rollers in place? More than likely, the hair on the rollers are rolled as a flip set in order to keep the roots flat. Please see my separate article on flip roller sets. My salon has a large inventory of 3-inch rollers for long hair services.
