AppleBaum Hair Growth Club 2020 Update

When you are ready to grow a new head of hair- "Who you gonna call?"

Benita Blocker with Applebaum Hair Growth Club is still educating and providing phenomenal hair care services.

I softly introduced my premium consultations last year (2019). I also had to take a hiatus to heal from a lot of trauma that I had not dealt with in decades. I also had to comply with government shutdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

Well, all of this stress from the economy being shutdown, is definitely going to create some hair loss challenges by the Holidays. As a single woman, I am definitely about "my bag," but I am dedicated to restoring your hair and confidence for the right price.

Now, your consultation includes several Herbalife supplements including probiotics, Vitamin C support and more. No shakes are included; so no worries about dairy concerns.

Your consultation also includes at least two Colorproof haircare products.

Hollywood Hairstylist: Benita Blocker

Virtual or In person, I have over 15 years in hair care, loc care, and product knowledge. I believe in diversity. All lives matter.

You can purchase the initial consultation at https://www.etsy.com/shop/ApplebaumStudio  Look for Hair Growth Club Consultation.

Or if you are not ready to purchase online, please feel free to contact me by FREE registration at my Herbalife website so that I can make sure your shipping information is accurate. www.getset.goherbalife.com

Then on my follow-up with you, we will discuss the consultation fee and payment options unrelated to Herbalife. (Herbalife requires documentation to who is using their products). Your registration saves me extra paperwork.

Thank you in advance.  You will also get other supplements shipped from various brands according to individual needs.

At your service soon . . . ~Benita

Sisterlocks: Seven years and eleven months

The Queen celebrated Juneteenth 2020!

My Sisterlocks Anniversary is now at seven years and eleven months.  I decided to do a little extra makeup in celebration of Juneteenth and Pride month.

The police brutality against George Floyd ( #GeorgeFloyd ) sparked global protests for justice, reform and equality. Other names: Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Elijah McClain . . .  the names go on and on and on.  Murders swept under the rug at the hands of police nationwide. The world began screaming "enough is enough." "No justice No peace!"  There should NOT be two justice systems.

Recognizing Pride month 2020 as a heterosexual female.

Wet Sisterlocks

I'm definitely back on my supplements:  Matcha Green tea, Biotin, Collagen, etc.  My hair is fuller again.  The whole 2020 economy shutdown is definitely going to create some hair loss issues by Holiday time due to stress.  My Herbalife Nutrition website is up and ready for supplement orders at getset.goherbalife.com  Shop 24/7 online and it will ship directly to you.

My Sisterlocks are Around Bra Strap length when dry.

Sisterlocks: 7 years and ten months

At Seven years and 10 months, my length is long enough to wear a long side pony.

A fresh shampoo and curls last for a few days.

After a few weeks when all the curls drop out, a partial updo does the trick!

I renewed my Herbalife membership. My website is getset.goherbalife.com and three day trial packs are available there.

Hair Thickening Solutions to Consider

Matcha Ceremonial Grade Green Tea

Like many women, my crown of my head has been tempermental.  Relaxers, aging, overtightening of my locs have all contributed to some thinning over the decades.  However, I have great news!!!!

I added some Matcha Ceremonial Grade Green Tea to my Herbalife non-GM Chai tea and noticed hair thickening in my crown area. I also added Artichoke tea and Oolong tea to my daily regimen.  I consume the Herbalife tea cocktail in the morning.  The Artichoke tea in the midday.  The Oolong tea before bedtime.  I have done this for a month, and my scalp does not get "sticky" in that crown area anymore.  It looks thicker too!

According to my research, the green tea fights that DHT hormone that causes hair loss. I plan to stick with my teas.  It forces extra water consumption because it is literally steeping tea bags for the Artichoke tea and Oolong tea.

I have to mix the Ceremonial Grade Green tea in my Herbalife shaker bottle.  It tastes like "grass" unless I add it to my HerbaLife custom cocktail.

You can order the HerbaLife Non-GM Chai tea from my website at http://getset.goherbalife.com
You can order the Matcha Green tea from www.zuleana.com

Please get medical advice if you are already on other medications before adding herbal teas.  Men you can drink the tea too!

Artichoke tea, Oolong tea, Soursop tea and other teas can all be ordered from the Zuleana website.

Free registration is required for my HerbaLife website.  It allows me to followup with you!

Sisterlocks Anniversary: Five years and Eight months

Partial updo and my Herbalife groceries!

The Herbalife nutrition products provides my body (and hair) with multi-vitamins!  It is Five years and eight months now from my Sisterlocks establishment. Parting my hair across both shoulders is getting easier to keep my locs framing my face.

I set my Sisterlocks withOUT pipe cleaners. I was inspired by "Black Panther" Wakanda knots!

I was past due for a shampoo and "reset," but I don't think that I ever have a "bad loc day" anymore.

Cold in the Springtime in North Carolina, but My Sisterlocks had a fresh shampoo and set!

Making of my "Wonder Woman" Look!

June 2017

With the success of the "Wonder Woman" Superhero movie, I wanted to re-create my own "Superwoman" look.  Here's some building blocks for you to recreate the look too!

Black Knight shield (from a party store like "Party City")
AND
Rhinestone headpiece (from Beauty supply store)

I have featured this type of headpiece/headband before on this blog.  I believe that it was during the Holidays.

Cosmetics and Skincare to create the look:
Herbalife Firming Eye Gel
 L'Oreal Anti-Fatigue BB Cream
L'Oreal True Match pressed powder

Believe it or not, I didn't spend much time applying dramatic makeup at all.  Just primers and powders!  In addition to Lighting and use of an Instagram Filter.  I also held my head in a position to eliminate shadows.

Of course, you can order the Herbalife SKIN care product directly from my website by creating a FREE Account first. Start here:   https://getset.goherbalife.com/Catalog/Home/Index/en-US

Sisterlocks Anniversary: Three Years and 10 months

I am committed to checking in monthly with everyone. I started an Instagram account, and it is keeping me very busy.  I also have some other projects that I am working on. So I am not writing blog articles as often as I used to.  My work as a hairstylist is now being highlighted on Instagram.  I am not sure if this is good or bad.  I am trying to figure out how to stay global and relevant.  I am evolving again.  Thanks for continuing to follow me.

Oh yeah, I am using HerbaLife Nutrition and implementing other lifestyle changes to get some more weight off.  I am trying to shrink back to the size that I was during my modeling days.

Feeling Hip, Cool, and Relevant in my shades that my late great Aunt gave to me.  Celebrating my 3 years and 10 months loc-versary!

Clowning Around on my 3 years 8 months loc-versary!

That moment arrived. I see nothing but length and more length.  My Sisterlocks are now 3 years and 8 months old. Yes!!!!

All of my locs would not fit under this clown wig; so I improvised.

I had a little fun improvising! Ha Ha Ha

Yeah, my Mr. "Big Shot" eyeglasses were a perfect partner for some fun!

My HerbaLife nutrition which includes soup, tea, shakes, protein bars, and aloe keep my Sisterlocks shiny from the healthy consumption.

The clown nose was uncomfortable for my nose.

So very pointed noses are probably a better fit!

It's my 6th Blog Anniversary Month!

Fresh fruits, HerbaLife nutrition, Workouts and Body Transformation Challenges have all had me preoccupied.  This month is my 12th hair salon anniversary, and my 6th anniversary for this hair blog.  In addition, three years and one month is around the corner for my Sisterlocks.  I will do my usual check-in soon.  So stay tuned.

On a separate note, I have been tweeting more.  I also plan on working on some fantasy hair themes as well as some more videos on blow drying natural hair.  Social media is a workout all by itself.  As soon as my weight loss challenge is over, I will be so happy.  I hope that I place in the contest, because it has been consuming me.  When I am not working on hair, then I am working out.  I will be refocused before October with more educational posts!  Thanks so much for your support and following me!  The best is yet to come!

Gaining Length While Losing Weight

Well, I am back down to my weight when I first got my Sisterlocks installed, and I was headed to Boston, MA to take my first Sisterlocks training.  It was August 2012.  I had been laid off from my corporate hairdresser position with Carolinas Healthcare System.  I suppose some people don't understand that you do not grow "long locs" overnight.  It takes time, and I was not going to pay another $1000 to get microlock extensions added nor was I going to spend another two days having anyone do anything else to my hair.

Some people have absolutely no idea what others go through in regards to controlling and grooming their hair.  I digress.  Anyway, I did not need a seat belt extension flying into Boston in August 2012, but this past January 2015 when I was headed to California, I had to ask for a seat belt extension.  I needed another inch or less of belt, and there was no more squeeze left in me so I had no choice, but to ask the flight attendant for a seatbelt extender.  I obviously could blame the airline for making the seats smaller, but somehow, I decided to suck up my pride. I had to admit to myself that I had slowly but surely gained a significant amount of weight in the last two years.  I don't even want to remind myself that I maintained a size 6 figure in my 20's so in the last couple of decades, I have experienced a lot of weight gain.

But I am regaining focus on getting all of that weight off.  I think that my hair had been a burden for so long because it is so different from the average head of hair.  Sometimes I question whether or not a "hair blog" even makes since anymore because unless someone truly has hair like mine - what worked for me may not work for another.  However, I am dedicated to the beauty industry, and I am excited about staying on the forefront of the hair industry.

My locs will be 35 months old in another week and a half.  My mom seems to be noticing my length more and more.  She even asked if all of that was my hair to make sure that I had not added any.  I had to laugh.

Let's see what the next year holds.

The HerbaLife Weight Loss Challenge is on!
