Beyonce's Lemonade and Becky's Good Hair!

Beyonce released a 60 minute video project called "Lemonade."
Within the first 16 minutes, she
  • destroyed about 20 car windows with a baseball bat,
  • big wheeled over another 20 cars,
  • told the hubby if he gets caught again, then he is going to lose his wife,
  •  and finally, she put

"Becky with the Good Hair"
on blast!

I am not going to address her violent relief captured on video, but I do want to address
the "Good Hair" topic.

"Good hair" should NO LONGER be associated with any particular type of hair.  For example:

Cassis Ventura has gorgeous hair, but it is NOT "Good Hair" for the Loc Nation.

And those who do well with Locs usually don't have "Good Hair" for chemical or heat straightening.

So my point is this:  If you are trying to make your hair do something opposite of its natural behavior then you are going to run into challenges.

Beyonce, Oprah, Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell -  are all examples of successful, smart women who were born with hair that probably would flourish in the "Loc Nation." However, after generations of brainwashing,  we have been taught that our hair has to look a certain way to fit in, to pass, to make us blend.

The best thing that I can say is that wigs can be worn over locs.  YouTube channel "bronzegoddess01" has a video "how to get long locs under a wig." It shows loc wearers how to flatten their locs in order to wear straight, long hair wigs seamlessly.

So leave the baseball bats at home!  Figure out what "your hair" is "good for."  Locs? Relaxer? Hot tools only? Braids?  Then do you!  When you need to look differently, grab a wig!

On a separate note, talking about turning lemons into "lemonade" . . . . please sign my online petition surrounding the false imprisonment of my cousin. He needs your moral support.  NO MONEY! Just sign and share his story!  Thank you so much in advance for supporting my #exonerateMichael campaign! Link below!

Blue Ivy, Beyonce, and Hair

Besides Rihanna's AMA Doobie hairstyle, Beyonce's Blue Ivy Carter has had a lot of talk about her fro.

Based on the natural curl patterns that both Beyonce and Jay Z both have according to my own photo evaluations,  Blue Ivy was destined to have a soft, overcurly curl pattern.  Granted, sometimes genes will skip generations, but Blue Ivy's fro looks to be a Type 3c  curl pattern which looks to be fine as far as texture is concerned.

I think that Beyonce is doing the best thing for Blue Ivy's hair . . . just let it grow and thicken and decide later whether to lock it, press it, or chemically alter it.

People have to remember Beyonce and Jay Z are trendsetters.  They lead.  The only advice they will probably listen to is from fan's comments of their music, clothes, or anything driving their net worth.

Blue Ivy's hair is not attached to any fan base at this time neither do they seem to be seeking any opinions on her hair.

Beyonce is focussed on her newly released digital album on itunes.  According to online news, Target stores may NOT carry this latest CD because it was released digitally before being released physically.  This news supposedly is not stopping Beyonce's fans from loving the new album.

Also, I want to make a note that Beyonce and Jay Z have been speculated to be a part of the Illuminati (secret society).  During Rihanna's performance at the AMA's, she did make a hand sign that people associate with the Illuminati.  Rihanna is also in Jay Z's music camp.  I believe there is something to the Illuminati theories.

Believe what you would like, but as far as Beyonce and Jay Z are concerned, I advise taking notes versus criticizing.  I think that they are definitely a family to follow.

Concert Hair and Fashion

Hair by Benita Blocker

My client was headed to see Beyonce / Sasha Fierce / Mrs. Carter  in Concert!

She has natural type 3 curl pattern hair, and I completed her blow out service the day of the concert.  She was kind enough to send me a snapshot!

Her attire chosen was Black, White and a touch of pink!  She said Beyonce was great!!!!

Beyonce's 2013 Edgy Haircut

So some fans like the new haircut and some people do not like the short look on Beyonce.  In my professional opinion, this new hairstyle is hard to maintain unless you were born with a "Type 3" curl pattern. So I anticipate that Mrs. Carter will keep a "Plan B" i.e. wig/hairpiece on hand for emergencies.

We are used to Beyonce wearing "Plan B" anyway.  So this haircut was a way for Beyonce to connect with us on a "backstage" level.  It's her downtime allowing us to see the real Mrs. Carter . . .  "Sasha Fierce" is still around the corner.  So chill, it's only hair!

From "Hair"stylist to "Wig" Stylist: The new trend?

So Beyonce was selected to lead the "Beautiful Woman" issue of People Magazine 2012. Halle Berry was the first Black woman to accomplish this. Both are beautiful Black women, but Beyonce is known for lace front wigs, extensions, ponytail extensions, etc.

So it's official! Wigs are the new style!

1) You don't have to worry about your flips flopping. 2) You don't have to worry about getting caught in a light rain. 3) You don't have to worry about hot tool damage. 4) You don't have to worry about sweating out the style 5) You don't have to worry about haircolor damage 6) You don't have to worry about going to the hair salon as often.

Wigs are "Hollywood!" 1) Meryl Streep wore a lace front wig in "The Devil Wears Prada" movie. 2) Many of the female cast members of Tyler Perry's plays are historically known for wearing wigs to have a consistent look for each showtime. 3) Madea wears wigs too! LOL! 4) "Dancing with the stars" contestants are interchanging in and out of wigs.

It's Wig Mania! I remember on the "Housewives of Atlanta" series when "Derek J" had the title "Celebrity Wig Stylist."

I also remember attending a class at a Bronner Brothers hair show where the platform artist typically carried an integration unit or wig for all celebrity photo shoots. The wigs and hairpieces saves time, money, and the photographers get great pictures.

Society is sooooo driven by the perfect image that very few people are going to be able to avoid reaching for a wig.

Angelina Jolie keeps her hair in a loose ponytail in her downtime. She never complicates her hair. Even for events, simple, elegant, and probably some flexible hold hairspray.

So hair stylists - if you can't "beat the wig trend" then you may as well join it!

Consumers - keep your own natural hair clean and trimmed every three months.

So how do the men feel about all of this? We need a "documentary." Men, let me hear from you!!!!
