I think that her hair is a wig that is interchangeable with another wig that can be purchased separately. There are youtube videos on caring for the Liv Doll's wigs. I was in shock to see a little girl taking the hair off her doll and washing/conditioning the "doll size wig." Where have I been? Now, the baby dolls are wearing wigs too . . . I am speechless. I will open my Alexis doll for Christmas. I will be in suspense until then.
How funny you posted this. I just went doll shopping for my daughter and took a picture of a doll set that included miniature oil sheen, grease and different hair pieces. Doll has long straight hair, option to attach long curly ponytail. Not sure how I feel about this doll set so I know how you feel.

ReplyDeleteHere's the link to the Barbie. I guess I should feel okay about this. Weave and hair styling really is a huge part of our culture, changing up our looks. Our dolls are not the first to have interchangeable hair pieces it just caught me off-guard.
Thanks for sharing! Bronner Brothers host Hair shows and manufactures a few product lines. I had no idea that they had partnered with Barbie to make urban baby dolls. Good to know!
